My journey into the wellness space started around 5 years ago. I was introduced to the concept of float tanks whilst  taking my daughter for a massage to help with her own stresses at the time.

I was in a management position , and even though I didn’t feel particularly stressed at the time, it was definitely a welcome break from the constant workload when I was in the float tanks. My monthly floats turned into fortnightly floats, which soon turned into weekly floats!

Over the next couple of years, I supported a close work colleague through a Mental Crisis, had one daughter dealing with the stresses of  yr. 12 and another one dealing with anxiety & panic disorder, then add Covid on top of that. My plate was full and I was also experiencing first hand how mental health can impact people.

When the opportunity presented itself to become the owner of the Traralgon Relaxation & Recovery Centre – I knew this was where I wanted to be heading – moving into the wellness space.

Being an allied health worker (almost 30 yrs of Radiography) I have seen my fair share of injury  & disease, as well as having experienced mental health issues both personally myself and with close family & friends, I knew that I had the opportunity to create a haven where everyone could feel safe to work on their own health & wellbeing. If we can help people to be in the best possible shape mentally & physically, maybe we can prevent some of the diseases later in life.

In October 2021 I took over the business, and along with resident centre assistant, Bianca, we have transformed the centre into our own slice of heaven to share with everyone. We are also a registered NDIS provider which enables us to reach more people in need of our services supporting both their mental and physical wellbeing.

We look forward to welcoming everyone and helping Gippsland take a holistic approach to their own health and wellbeing.
